Life Lessons was the ultimate product from a brief created by Creative Conscience. Creative Conscience designed several briefs for change. One of these briefs looked at improving mental well-being. Utilizing my own experiences while being at university,
I began to research what factors help to reduce stress and anxiety for new students attending university, designing a service where new students and young adults can anonymously follow tutorial videos for everyday tasks. By following these tutorial videos, young adults will be able to develop their own independence and self-esteem, thus in turn help lower levels of anxiety and depression.
Bright colours were chosen to create eye-catching visuals that would be placed in strategic locations including university campuses and city centres to provide the greatest recognition. Posters and billboards clearly display the name of the service using tongue-in-cheek language that causes the everyday tasks of ironing and washing to appear as a novelty and not difficult. Alongside these visuals packs have been developed for new university students within accommodations that include how-to booklets and provide 'starter packs' with laundry pods.
Users who prefer to follow step-by-step tutorials online videos have been created to demonstrate day-to-day tasks. Examples below include how to iron a t-shirt and how to fold a fitted bed sheet.
